Alternate Club

I’m Ali Ansari – a finance and technology professional by day, but here, I’m your host.

We live in a world where people aren’t talking anymore. Instead, we’re glued to screens, fed an endless stream of content designed to confirm our biases. The result? Extreme polarization. And if we don’t change course, this could become the catalyst for the next great conflict.

Here’s the thing: our realities are no longer the same. Your news feed and mine paint completely different pictures of the world. We don’t share common ground anymore.

I want to change that. I’ll bring you passionate, unfiltered conversations with fascinating people who offer fresh perspectives on life, relationships, and the pivotal issues shaping our society.

Whether you find yourself nodding in agreement, raising an eyebrow in skepticism, or having an “aha” moment – my goal is simple: to spark curiosity and create space for alternate viewpoints.

This is just the beginning. I’d love to hear what topics you’re passionate about as we build this journey together.
Until next time: take it easy, and stay curious.

Why Alternate Club?

Alternate Club is a modern Autaak

A welcoming space for unfiltered, passionate dialogue about life, relationships, and society. It is a place where everyday people trade perspectives and leave energised, excited, and inspired.

In Sindh*, where I grew up, there are places called Autaaks — rooms kept open so neighbours and friends can drop in for tea, a smoke, and a good conversation. As a child, I’d visit with my father after paying respects at our family graveyard on Eid.

I was too young to join in, but I felt the electricity of those exchanges — the warmth, the wit, the way ideas bounced around the room. I always dreamed of having an Autaak of my own — a place alive with guests, conversation, and possibility.

Thirty years later, with most of the bucket list checked off, I am finally building that space for today’s world.

I call it Alternate Club: a digital Autaak where people come to talk about life, relationships, and society. No posturing, no performative outrage — just honest, curious, energising dialogue that leaves you better than you arrived.

The idea lived in my head for years, tugging at me between work, family, and everything else. In April 2024, I stepped away from my job and landed in a three‑month gardening leave — just enough stillness to finally build what I had imagined: a welcoming, global Autaak. Social media might be noisy, but connection is timeless. Alternate Club uses the reach of the internet to bring the spirit of the Autaak to anyone, anywhere, who values honest dialogue.

If you’re tired of hot takes and hungry for real talk, you’ll feel at home here. Bring your questions. Bring your story. Bring your whole self. Welcome to Alternate Club — the conversation is waiting.
